Two tech entrepreneurs have opened a new brewery in Seattle’s hip Capitol Hill neighbourhood.

The brewery, named Optimism Brewing Company, focuses on straightforward and accessible beers, casting off style names like ‘kolsch’ and ‘stout’ in favor of simple descriptors like ‘Yellow’ and ‘Black’. The founders, a couple who got their start as Microsoft employees, say they hope their approach will open craft beer up to more casual drinkers.
