Auburn University Museum of Natural History

Alabama

While it's primarily a working research area, the Museum of Natural History is filled with publicly displayed goodies: a fantastic collection of marine invertebrates, mammal dioramas, amphibians and reptiles, and plenty of fossils. Guided tours are available on first Wednesdays at 5pm, but you need to register on the museum website.
