I'm a Berlin-based writer and photographer and long-time Lonely Planet contributor. Since taking on my first job for Lonely Planet aged 24, I've written guides to Russia and many parts of the former Soviet Union, China, Mexico, Colombia, Albania and Maldives, to name just a few.
I've also honed my reputation as the company's unofficial totalitarianism correspondent, writing guides (often covertly) to North Korea, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, DRC, Niger and Uzbekistan.
