Kelly Magyarics is a Washington, D.C.-based freelance journalist. Her travels have given her the opportunity to take part in a healing ceremony with a shaman at Machu Picchu, tread grapes with her feet in a traditional lagar in Portugal's Douro Valley, attend the king’s coronation in Thailand, explore Santorini's volcanic ash vineyards, visit the world’s oldest rum distillery on Barbados, and sip a flute of Methode Cap Classique at sunset atop Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa.
Kelly documents her travels for Lonely Planet, AFAR, Conde Nast Traveler, TripSavvy, and Global Traveler, and regularly covers wine, spirits, cocktails, and food for publications including Wine Enthusiast, Liquor.com, Chowhound, Alcohol Professor, The Gourmet Insider, and Food Network. She’s always up for sipping a crispy, salty white wine or 50/50 Martini and is perpetually in search of the perfect tropical beach.
