About Kate
For nearly two decades, Kate has contributed to over 70 titles for Lonely Planet. Her many exploits for LP include hiking in the Bolivian highlands, exploring the jungles and Mayan ruins of Mexico and ferry hopping between Greek islands. She's also driven solo (several times) around South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini. Her love of Portuguese custard tarts (and any local pastry) explains her packing staple: elasticized pants. She enjoys chatting, dancing and eating her way through cultures. Her bylines appear in Sydney Morning Herald and The Age (Australia) along with airline magazines, National Geographic Traveller UK and BBC.com. See her work at katearmstrongtravelwriter.com
