About Felicity
British writer Felicity Hughes has spent most of her adult life abroad. Her first major destination was Japan, where she wrote about weird and wonderful subjects such as giant insect battles, host clubs and virtual idols for publications including The Guardian and The Japan Times.
After several years dashing around Tokyo covering sexual fetishes and sushi trends, she felt like it was time for a change of pace. A five-month adventure in South East Asia followed, before she finally put roots down in Madrid, Spain. Keen to explore the history of the city, she began writing a blog called The Making of Madrid. Now she can ramble on for hours about its underground tunnels, ghost stories and sex scandals. Even better, she often gets paid to do just this!
