There has been a call for improved road safety in Uganda following the death of an Australian couple. The pair, Dean Griffioen, 33, and Tanya Natasha Griffioen, 34, were killed on their BMW motorcycle in early November when struck head on by a Toyota 4WD. The editorial in Kampala’s The Observer noted that the fact the couple died in Uganda after having safely survived the roads of Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi and Zambia said a lot about road safety in the country.
